We're a small team of UK-based amateur radio operators, software engineers, and educators who built the Morse code tool we always wished existed — free, complete, and genuinely useful.
Making Morse Code Accessible to Everyone in the UK
Most free Morse code tools online are basic, American-English only, or cluttered with ads. We set out to build something better: a complete, clean, and genuinely useful Morse code translator built with UK users in mind — from GCSE students and RSGB members to ham radio operators and escape room enthusiasts.
Everything we build follows the ITU International Morse Code standard. We use British English spelling throughout, test on UK mobile networks, and continuously improve based on feedback from our community of users. Whether you need to decode audio, translate an image, or simply learn the basics, we've got you covered.

How We Got Here
The Idea
James started learning CW for his amateur radio licence and found every free Morse tool online was either broken, American-only, or paywalled. He started building a better one — what would become morse-code-translator.co.uk.
The Team Forms
Sarah joined to write educational content after noticing her GCSE physics students had no reliable UK resource for Morse code. Mark joined to build the audio engine.
Public Launch
morse-code-translator.co.uk goes live with text, audio, and image translation. We launch with a complete reference sheet and FAQ covering the most common Morse questions.
Continuous Improvement
We publish in-depth learning guides including basics and tips, add the light signal decoder, expand our reference sheet library with a dedicated Morse words guide, and continue optimising the audio engine based on user feedback from the UK ham radio community.
